Well, what the heck, we decided to splurge on the blue point. A dozen gulf coast oysters on the half shell were $5 less than the blue point oysters. We were hungry for oysters, and there were two oyster appetizers offered. We were then brought a warm and crisp heavenly French baguette with softened butter ready to be slathered on and enjoyed. I opted for a nice glass of Pinot Grigio, which is always a great complement to a night of seafood binging. ![]() ![]() Once seated in the dining room, we ordered our drinks, among which the choices included Louisiana-inspired Purple Voodoo and Dirty South. Although my husband and I were out for a date night, Pappadeaux is also a great place to take the family or spend time with friends for a special occasion. If staying for the long haul, the vibrant and bustling dining room, abundant with tables and character, is casual and comfortable. Once inside, you will find the large and well-decorated bar, perfect for a quick bowl of gumbo and a glass of wine. Upon arriving, the outdoor water feature and large entry porch are very inviting. If you enjoy the Cajun flavors of the French Quarter, then this is definitely a restaurant worthy of a regular stop. That being said, if you have a hankering for seafood, this is a good place to check out. Simmer for 4 minutes, remove and pour through a fine strainer and chill.Raspberry Sauce: Mix ingredients in sauce pan over medium high heat, until preserves reach boiling point.When the filling is thick pour into the prepared pie shell and chill pie serveral hours before serving.Stir until pie filling starts to thicken and is completely mixed.When egg and flour mixture is thickened, add cream cheese, whisking constantly taking care not to scorch the bottom of pan.On low heat, or in a double boiler, whisk the egg mixture and stir constantly until mixture thickens.Stir, completely mixing flour into liquid, add lime zest, Roses Lime Juice and key lime juice.Use a 2 quart sauce pan to whisk egg yolks with water, add salt and flour.Pie: Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy,add sweetened condensed milk and beat mixture until completely blended.Place in a preheated, 350✯ oven for 7 to 10 minutes, when crust is slightly golden, remove from oven and cool.Pie Crust: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl, add melted butter, blend well and press into a buttered pie pan. ![]()
